Yallop MLS coach of year
Frank Yallop, who grew up in New Westminster, has been named Major League Soccer coach of the year.
The 48-year-old San Jose Earthquakes head coach led the squad to a league best 19-6-0 record after finishing 14th overall last season.
It's the second time Yallop, who graduated from New Westminster secondary, has won the award having received it in 2001.
He received 74 per cent of the club management votes, 64 per cent from the media and 58 per cent from players.
