Douglas College Royals snag soccer title
The Douglas College Royals blanked the Vancouver Island University Mariners 3-0 at Quest University in Squamish on Sunday to win the Pacwest men’s soccer championship.
Royals captain Dylan Myers, a New Westminster secondary grad, scored the second goal with the first going to Pacwest most valuable player Sahil Sandhu, who went to Burnaby Central. The final goal was scored by Jag Gill.
Sandhu also scored in Douglas’ 4-1 semifinal win over the Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
The Royals are the hosts for the national championship, Nov. 7-11 in Coquitlam, which means the Mariners will also get to participate.
