JV Hyacks win showdown for first
The New Westminster Hyacks defeated the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 21-12 at Mercer Stadium on Thursday to move into first place in the AAA high school junior varsity football standings.
Adrian Cagampan, Jeff Lugtu and Julian Ramirez scored touchdowns for the Hyacks to improve their record to 3-1 in conference play, the same as Vancouver College, and 7-1 overall.
New West will travel to West Vancouver next Thursday to take on the Highlanders.
