Hyack girls qualify for AAA provincials

The New Westminster Hyacks have qualified for the AAA provincial girls' basketball championships despite a 65-48 loss to Argyle Saturday for third place in the Crehan Cup Lower Mainlands. Both teams earned a berth, along with the Handsworth Royals and the York House Tigers.

Ariana Sider led all Hyacks' scorers with 14 points while Meriam Ali netted 11.

The provincials begin March 7 at Capilano University.
