Douglas Royals tip off at basketball provincials

The Douglas College Royals men's basketball team play the UBCO Heat in the quarter-finals of the BCCAA Provincial Basketball Championships Thursday at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford.

The Royals lost both their previous games with the Heat earlier this season, 80-71 and 84-77.

Douglas secured a berth in the provincials by finishing fifth after a pair of back-to-back wins over the Kwantlen Eagles on the last weekend of the regular season.

The men's championship game will be played Saturday night at 8 p.m.
