This one’s out of control

Re: Motorcycle noise needs to be curbed (Letters, NewsLeader, July 13)

Good grief, when is this madness going to stop? First trains, then trucks, now motorcycles! Why not ban gasoline and diesel cars? Electric vehicles only allowed in the city.

Oh and what about airplanes? Don’t forget them. Perhaps you could also take a look at playground whilst you’re at it. You know, those noisy kids on swings or running around having fun and yelling. If you’re going after noise then you must not appear biased.

I remember a time when New Westminster was a hustling, bustling city. The docks with deep sea ships unloading and loading, the cannery, the streetcars.

I’m sure if all of that was still going on today there would be those that would want to shut them down.

I remember as a child in the ‘40s going downtown. What an experience with all the stores. Now, well the city has turned into a “Me First” city—the heck with everyone else.

Ah, New Westminster… what has happened to you?
