Pattullo Bridge will decide New West's future
Re: Let's re-think the Pattullo Bridge
We feel upper level governments are using, abusing, polluting and then neglecting residents in our little City of New Westminster.
We are not, and don't want to be the "armpit" of the lower mainland with more congestion. We would love to have a BBQ in our yard and not hear sirens racing to the bridge, as we do daily now. It would be lovely to return our city to the crown jewel it once was, and be able to watch children ride bicycles without fear of getting squashed by traffic. We want long healthy lives for our families and children in a safe, healthy environment, and more congestion will only bring commuter joy.
We can adjust easily without the Pattullo Bridge and live our lives here in our little city with peace, health and enjoyment as other municipalities do. We can be strong and united—for example West Vancouver is a very tight comunity, and when they say "no" it's firm.
So folks—rally and have your voice heard.
Or sit back and do nothing and watch our Royal City dither away and become undesirable to live in, and property values fall.
