Knife assault in New West

A New Westminster resident is facing an assault charge after another man was found with knife wounds Wednesday evening.

Police said they received a report of an incident in the 500 block of Ash Street about 7 p.m. Officers found a man with serious but non-threatening knife wounds. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The NWPD arrested Kevin Francis Murphy, 38. He faces a charge of aggravated assault and two charges of uttering a threat.
