A Surrey man has been charged in connection with a New Westminster robbery.

New West police say a business in the 1100 block of Royal Avenue was robbed at knifepoint on June 24 about 10:20 a.m. The male suspect fled with a small amount of cash before the police arrived but a subsequent investigation identified a suspect who was arrested July 2.

Brent Michael Crane, 31, is charged with robbery, attempted theft of a vehicle under $5,000 and mischief to property under $5,000.

The NWPD said its investigators are working with neighbouring departments to determine if the suspect has been involved in additional offences.
