Woman charged in Uptown New West stabbing

A New Westminster woman has been charged with stabbing a man in Uptown New West Sunday afternoon.

Police found the man suffering from a stab wound to his head and covered blood in the 500 block of Brantford Street at about 4:30 p.m. He was taken to hospital where he received six stitches.

Melanie Campbell, 42, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. She has also been charged with assaulting the same victim in a previous incident two days earlier that went unreported to police.
