New Westminster police have issued an alert about a man charged with sexual assault who resides in the city.

Fred William Bilaway, 52, appeared in New Westminster provincial court March 20. He is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman responding to a Craigslist posting for a waitress/bartender at a local bar.

Police released the man's photo because they believe there are other victims and witness who might help their investigation, said Sgt. Diana McDaniel. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Const. Martha Miszkurka at 604-529-2435 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Bilaway's next court date is May 5.
