Police issue warning after attack in Queen's Park neighbourhood
New Westminster police are advising people to be extra cautious, especially at night, after a woman was assaulted by a male attacker early Sunday.
Police say a 48-year-old woman was walking in the 200 block of Queen's Avenue at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning when a male suspect emerged from some bushes. The male told the woman to come to him in an aggressive manner, then grabbed her and threw her to the ground. The woman screamed and the suspect fled on foot.
Police who responded to the call were unable to find the suspect, who is described as Caucasian, 25-40 years-old, 5'11"-6'1" in height, with a lean, muscular build. He was clean shaven, wore a tight black t-shirt with white and red writing, blue jeans with a belt and a black ball cap.
Anyone with further information about the attack is asked to contact detective-constable Michelle White at 604-529-2536 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477
