New Westminster police hauled away a man caught wedged inside a pipe at the Royal City Centre mall early Wednesday morning.

According to CTV BC News, mall security heard some noises about 3 a.m. and called police. When they got there they found a man wedged inside a pipe. Police said it appears he was in a stairwell and had climbed into the air vent, allegedly to break into the building, but got stuck.

A high-angle rescue truck was called in with firefighters forced to break through drywall to get the man out, who CTV said may have suffered a broken arm.
