UPDATE: Con artist suspect identified
A con artist pretending to be the victim's son is being sought by New Westminster police.
A department release said a man befriended an elderly woman on Nov. 21 posing as her son and followed her home where he stole $240 cash in her wallet before fleeing. A similar incident happened on Jan. 2 this year where a man convinced a senior to take $1,600 from her bank account, and police believe the same man is responsible for both thefts.
Anyone having any information on the identity of the man is asked to call Const. Andrew Corazza at 604-525-5411.
