Restaurant eyed for new building
An open house will be held next Thursday for a proposed restaurant patio at the Queen’s Park West office complex under construction in New Westminster’s Uptown district.
It will be held Nov. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m., at 300-601 Sixth St.
Uptown Property Group are the owners of the building, which is on Sixth Avenue at Fifth Street.
“We have attracted a high quality, full service restaurant to occupy part of the ground floor of the new office building,” said Uptown vice-president Bart Slotman in a letter to the Queen’s Park Residents Association.
“I am not in a position to disclose who they are, but I can tell you the company is an experienced restaurant operator with multiple locations in the Vancouver area.”
He also said the restaurant would be approximately 4,000 square feet.
The patio is proposed to be added to the side of the building on Fifth Street.
The patio will require an amendment to the existing development permit because it wasn’t anticipated when the plans were originally submitted.
Uptown also intends to show plans for proposed renovations to the entrance plaza at Westminster Centre at the open house.
