Second suspect in SkyTrain iPad theft arrested
Transit Police have arrested a second suspect in the robbery of an iPad last May from a wheelchair-bound deaf woman with cerebral palsy.
The robbery happened May 10 at the Metrotown SkyTrain station as the victim, Cassie Campbell, tried to get onto an elevator.
Media attention helped police track down the first suspect, 31-year-old John Eugene Lagimodiere, who was charged May 16.
The second suspect, a New Westminster man, was arrested Wednesday, July 25. Police are recommending a formal charge of robbery to provincial Crown counsel.
After media reports of the case, a Good Samaritan bought Campbell a new iPad, which is one of her main methods of communication.
