Former New Westminster school trustee dies
A celebration of the life of former New Westminster school trustee Al Coulson will be held Thursday.
According to his obituary, Coulson, who served three terms on the school board, died on March 24 following a lengthy illness. He was 88.
The Second World War veteran also served as captain of the Hyack anvil battery and president of the Hyack Festival Association. He was also a long-time educator with the Vancouver school district.
Coulson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eileen, four sons and eight grandchildren.
The celebration will be held at Columbia-Bowell chapel, 219 Sixth Street, on Thursday, April 5, at 2 p.m.
