New West cop interrupts B&E; pair arrested
Two men were arrested after a New Westminster police officer came across a break-and-enter in progress Wednesday evening.
The officer was on routine patrol when he noticed the glass doors to a business had been damaged. When he investigated he found out a man inside the building who attempted to escape to a waiting vehicle. The officer caught up to the man, who was arrested, while other officers arrived to arrest a second man waiting in the vehicle with stolen property from the business.
Police say both suspects are known to them and are being held in custody pending a court appearance.
