Police investigate New Westminster shooting

New Westminster police are investigating a late-night shooting on Monday that sent one man to hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the 900-block of 12th Street just before 11 p.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, and a police dog was called in to search for potential suspects and evidence.
