More in shelter in New West
There was no change in the number of homeless in the count done in New Westminster this year than there was three years ago. However, there was a big change in how many were sheltered.
The Metro Vancouver Homeless Count done on March 16 revealed 124 homeless people in the city, the same as 2008. The difference was three years ago 72 were unsheltered while only 39 were this year, a drop of 46 per cent.
