ICBC helps pay for intersection upgrades in New Westminster
ICBC contributed $155,000 to help the City of New Westminster on three road projects to help make roads safer in 2010 according to the provincial crown corporation. In a press release, ICBC said it contributed $135,000 for signal progression at the intersection of Royal and McBride avenues, and $10,000 for installation of a left-turn signals at both 12th Street and Sixth Avenue, and up the hill at 12th and Eighth. ICBC says a 2009 independent evaluation has determined for every dollar invested the corporation sees a return of five to 12 times the investment in reduced crash costs. newsroom@newwestnewsleader.com
