Man stabbed in New West apartment

A New Westminster man was stabbed in a Downtown apartment last Saturday.

New Westminster police received a call shortly before 7 a.m. on Jan. 29 that a male was suffering from stab wounds at an apartment building located in the unit block of 10th Street.

Police attended and located the victim, a 31-year-old with a small wound to his left hip area.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, first name "Sam," 30 years old, wearing black clothes.

The victim said "Sam" had stabbed him for unknown reasons and refused to provide any further details about the suspect or the assault.

He was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
