Dawn Black chosen by NDP caucus to serve as interim leader
The BC NDP's interim leader will likely be Dawn Black, MLA for New Westminster.
Black was unanimously recommended by the NDP caucus to step into the shoes of Carole James, who stepped down in December.
Full approval for Black to take leadership will come from the NDP's Provincial Council in the next few days.
Black, who's been serving in New Westminster since May 2009, is the critic for Advanced Education and Labour Market Development and previously served three terms as the NDP MP in the riding of New Westminster-Coquitlam.
Black will be head of the party until a permanent leader is chosen through a vote of party members in April.
