This year’s Royal City Youth Ballet performance of The Nutcracker will feature 26 dancers from the New Westminster area.

The company claims The Nutcracker is the longest running seasonal ballet performance in Canada, running for 24 years. The ballet’s artistic director is Dolores Kirkwood of New West and the costumes designed by another Royal City resident, Chris Sinosich.

Performances will be held at the Massey Theatre on Dec. 9 at 1 and 4:30 p.m. They are part of 20 shows done throughout the Lower Mainland during the Christmas season.
