New Westminster band honours Eva
A New Westminster rock band, Tourist Machine, has honoured a hometown hero in its first CD.
I See Eva, written by the band's founder Brad Porcellato, is a tribute to Eva Markvoort and is the lead song on the band's CD One.
Markvoort championed awareness of cystic fibrosis via various vehicles including a documentary about her titled 65 Red Roses. Markvoort had a double lung transplant in 2007 but died two years ago from transplant rejection while awaiting a second transplant.
Other members of the band are guitarist Len Osanic, who runs Fiasco Bros. Recording Studios on 20th Street in New Westminster where One was recorded, singer Susan Kovacs and bassist Tom Gourlie.
The song can be heard at the bands website, touristmachine.com.
