An eclectic historical collection

The New Westminster Historical Society will start 2013 off with a look at a variety of events in the city’s past.

The presentation, An Eclectic Selection of Views to Start the New Year, will include topics such as the former Eaton’s and David Spencer store—now occupied by Army and Navy—on Columbia Street, the 1985 opening of the arts centre in Queen’s Park, and the Fraser River steamship Transfer.

The free program will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m., in the New Westminster Public Library auditorium.
