Lots of family fun at RiverFest
Here is some of what awaits you at this year’s RiverFest:
Artists on the River Art Show
The popular Artists on the River market on the esplanade engages local artists and artisans specializing in various media to display and sell their artwork along the riverfront. Artists on the River Art Show features artists and artisans who produce original pieces focusing on the river or who have been influenced by the river and depict the influence in their pieces.
This weekend also marks the opening of the third edition of the *Click* exhibit inside the Fraser River Discovery Centre. Photographers of all ages and from all regions of the Fraser submit photos of the Fraser River through The Fraser River Discovery Centre’s Flickr page in the months leading to the festival with a selection of the best photos being exhibited until next RiverFest.
Family Fun
The festival will feature a variety of age-appropriate games and craft stations to provide children and adults with entertaining, interactive hands-on educational experiences. All exhibitors at the festival are required to provide hands-on activities that either promote artistic endeavors or environmental stewardship or relate to river heritage. Education about the Fraser River is a key activity for promoting understanding of the value of a healthy, productive river. Might as well make education fun!
Foods of the Fraser
With its Food 360 vision, the River Market celebrates the full circle of food in a local, passionate, and sustainable way. Come see what each of the merchants has specially prepared to celebrate the River with you. Festivals goers are well served!
