Poker Run on Saturday to include walking, cycling routes

As one of New Westminster’s most anticipated events of the year, the 13th annual Key West Ford Show & Shine kicks off its weekend with the Poker Run on Saturday, July 7.

What exactly is a Poker Run?

It’s an event where you travel to different checkpoints around the city, drawing a playing card from a deck at each stop, with the goal of creating the best poker hand possible.

This year’s Poker Run starts at City Hall between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and ends at the Boston Pizza in Columbia Square, where prizes will be awarded to the best poker hands.

In addition to the vehicle and motorcycle categories in previous years, cycling and walking routes have been added this year, making an ideal outing for families.

The grand prize winner gets a fabulous trip to a tropical destination.

The Poker Run is Saturday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the cost to enter is only $10. See www.downtownnewwest.ca for more details.
