Kainth promoted by Tourism New Westminster
Tourism New Westminster has named Tej Kainth as its executive director. For the past five years she has served as the organization's marketing and visitor centre coordinator.
Along with coordinating the visitors centre, Kainth has put together a visitors guide and developed the Tourism New Westminster website. She also was behind the creation of NEXT new West, a networking group for young professionals in the city.
"With a track record of success, Tej Kainth is more than ready to take on her new position," said Tourism New Westminster president Kathy MacKerricher in a press release. "Her passion, dedication and tireless work promoting New Westminster make her an excellent ambassador at an exciting time in our city's history."
The release said in her new role Kaith will pursue implementation of a two per cent hotel room tax to fund marketing and tourism projects, develop a five-year business plan, and develop other tourism and marketing activities.
