New West business owner honoured by Douglas College
New Westminster business owner Judy Hamilton has been named winner of the 2011 Douglas College self-employment program entrepreneur of the year award.
Hamilton walked away from a 20-year IT career to start her own mobile development company with her idea for a barcode application that links offline and online worlds and helps consumers find more information while shopping.
Hamilton enrolled in the program and emerged with a business plan to set up TerraTap Technologies which is not only surviving, it is thriving.
There were 27 finalists for awards in nine categories.
